As well as the castle, Knepp Castle Estate has a number of residential, commercial, equine and agricultural tenants, and a variety of licensees. The primary business is rented property, but the estate also trades in organic farming, renewable energy, weddings, broadband, has a campsite and wildlife tourism business and a holiday property abroad. The estate is also pioneering re-wilding in the UK and has a strong environmental focus and the Burrell family are involved in various NGOs, Boards and Trusts.
The bookkeeper shares a busy office within the Estate Office at Knepp Castle, with 3 part time accounts staff - one focusing on year end accounts, one on the tourism business’ data entry and the other one for purchase ledger and admin support. The Estate Office is shared with the wider Admin and Management team.
The business continues to evolve and grow and there are opportunities for career progression both within the estate and associated with the family’s wider interests.
Maintaining records for both limited companies, sole traders and an LLP
AAT Qualified Preferred
Manage the accounts team
Payroll processing (albeit this could be out-sourced)
Processing monthly rent demands
Experience using accounting software (Key Prime training will be given)
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Preparation of monthly financial reports
Hours of Work
40 hour week: Monday – Friday
21 days holiday + statutory days.
